MAKE, PLAY, AND TAKE MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

  • BIRTHDAY PARTIES
  • GIRL AND BOY SCOUTS
  • SUMMER CAMPS
  • RELIGIOUS EVENTS

Under Dr. Woodson's entertaining direction, children will make and play their own simple musical instruments in a one-hour event.

Organizations should contact Dr. Woodson to learn how children will learn how to make strings, winds, drums and other percussion based on ideas from many countries. After making the instruments, young people will learn how to play simple, beginning musical phrases, compose music and even have a jam session. By the end of the session, all will hear a performance by the young people.

Dr. Woodson has been presenting instrument making workshops for over 30 years around the U.S., including trips to Europe, Africa, Indonesia, and the Middle East. In 2008, he presented a family play along concert with the Kronos Quartet using his homemade instruments at Carnegie Hall. He has consulted on musical instruments with Disney, NASA, the U.S. State Department, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, including many orchestras nationwide.
COST
